Other events as of late

^ Bakr Edi was a recent Muslim festival, which means "Goat Feast". It involves slaying and eating a goat, symbolizing spiritual sacrifice. The city of Hyderabad gets inundated with goats from the countryside. Two slain goats have been hanging on a tree on Road Twelve for about a week now. Probably a purchase gone sour - now it can only be called a purchase gone fetid. Yeesh.

There are also devotees of a particular sect of Hinduism that are walking around dressed all in black for a fast that ends with a pilgrimage to Kerala, a neighboring state. There is a temple there which atracts hundreds of thousands of devotees of this god or goddess in this location. It takes a great deal of dedication to walk a thousand miles....

All in a day's life in Hyderabad.

Christmas is also bursting out all over. More to come on that - although the pics may have to be donated, our camera broke. Please, if any of our friends read this and have photos to share, please send to us!
