Still the Third World

At the end of the day, we are still in the Third World, even though we lead a very nice life in some ways. On one hand, we have people doing menial tasks for us. On the other hand, we routinely don't have warm water in the mornings.

A driver. Power cuts.

Nice home. Frequent vistas of copulating wild dogs.

The Taj Mahal and Rajasthani palaces. Stepping over buffalo patties.

Flavorful and aromatic food in wonderful restaurants. Dead rats the size of house cats.

India has no middle ground, it seems.

Here is how our laundry dries. On a "laundry horse", as well as a recent addition - an improvised bamboo pole, left over from the awning creation on our patio, on which a few other items are hung.

It's an interesting life, without a doubt.
