sari embroiderers
From Tara - I went down to the old city with a friend to look for a small bead shop only to find it was closed for renovation. We were on the hunt for a certain type of glass bead that only he sold. We then found the owner who brought us upstairs to his storage room. It was like looking for a needle in a haystack, but we all found them. On the way out of the building we stumbled past this small room. There were two young men, actually boys, doing embroidery work on silk sarees. They worked so quietly and quickly. Perhaps this counts as child labor? They were very proud of their work and happy to have us observe and photo them. A really neat experience to see things like this first hand.
